MEETING CALLED TO ORDER BY: Wesley Maynez
MEETING HIGHLIGHTS:
- Management approved the early installation of holiday lights on houses, so long as they are not turned on until the day after Thanksgiving.
- Assembly Council Member Celeste Rodriguez was the guest speaker and generously brought homemade treats to share. As a candidate for Mayor of the 43rd Assembly District, she addressed several pressing concerns affecting Sylmar. Celeste offered valuable insights into the legal and bureaucratic obstacles hindering progress. She not only committed to returning for future discussions but also pledged to collaborate with the community to address persistent issues, such as RV parking along Foothill and the ongoing lack of enforcement (and red curb paint) in the no-parking area at the community entrance.
- Next meeting will be elections and two positions will be up for new members.
- The meeting was followed by the Safety Fair Presentation, which handed out flyers and a QR link to useful safety documents - most of which are now available for download on this ORA website. Free Hot Dogs and snacks were served.
